Position Information

The SWIFT Clinician is a new role within the Student Well-being, Intervention, and Follow-Through (SWIFT) department, a part of the Health Well-Being and Safety (HWS) division at UCR. This position provides clinical intervention, assessment, education, and prevention for a wide range of mental health challenges students may experience. In this role, the SWIFT Clinician will provide professional mental health crisis assessment, treatment/intervention, and prevention services in support of UC Riverside's commitment to re-envisioning campus safety and policing towards a welcoming service-oriented, and community-centric university campus. The incumbent will also promote a campus culture emphasizing fair, collaborative, and trusting community relationships, and respectful and humane methods for mental health and campus safety. The person in this role must be a skilled professional who is multi-culturally proficient/affirming, has experience with trauma-informed care, and demonstrates experience in providing crisis intervention services. The incumbent will play a critical role in achieving the unit's organizational objectives. The incumbent will respond to crisis situations and may deliver on- and off-site, immediate and personalized interventions within a framework of inclusion, excellence, and social justice. Because the nature of support needed for students in crisis may occur out of the office, services provided out on-campus will be in a co-response model with an accompaniment of the newly formed Campus Safety Responder (CSR) team member (a specially trained non-sworn professional trained in de-escalation). This role will also help students navigate resources on- and off-campus, and support students who have challenges related to post-hospitalization/discharge from state or local psychiatric hospitals. Additionally, this role will be asked to work outside of non-traditional work hours.

Please be advised that applicants are required to submit a cover letter and a curriculum vitae/resume for full consideration. Candidates may be required to provide a work sample and/or conduct a presentation as a part of the interview process. Additionally, the classification title and salary range for this position are currently under review. The classification for this position is covered under the UPTE-CWA (Residual Health Care Professionals (HX)).

This position has multiple openings.

The expected budgeted pay scale for this position is $78,700 to $111,900 annually. Placement within the range is based on the individual's qualifications as they relate to this position (e.g., related: education, experience, licensures, certifications, etc.) and other business and organizational needs.

Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

As a university employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.
